Policies, in plain English.
What this website collects, what the app does with your photos, and the terms that apply while Live Gallery is in public beta. No surprises hidden in a wall of text.
Who we are
Live Gallery App is operated by Jonathan McNamee. If you have any questions about this policy, email hello@livegalleryapp.com.
This policy covers the website at livegalleryapp.com and the Live Gallery desktop application for Windows.
This website
This static website does not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels or marketing cookies. There is no cookie banner because the site does not set analytics or advertising cookies.
Our hosting provider may process standard server logs — such as IP address, browser type, requested page and time of request — to serve the site, keep it secure and diagnose faults. Those logs are not used to build advertising profiles.
In short: browsing this site does not create a marketing profile of you. If you email us, we receive the message you chose to send.
The app and your photos
Live Gallery the application runs entirely on your device. We do not collect, upload, access or store the photos, files or library data you manage within the app. Your photos never leave your machine.
There is no telemetry, usage tracking or file information transmitted to us or a third party from inside the app during normal use. Face recognition, search and organisation run locally on your hardware.
Downloading the beta
Live Gallery is currently public beta software. By downloading and installing it, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
- The software is provided in beta form and may contain bugs, errors or unexpected behaviour.
- You download and install Live Gallery at your own risk. Keep your own backups of important files before using any pre-release software.
- We take due diligence to keep the installer and application free from malware and malicious code. The application does not require internet access to function and does not make external connections during normal use.
- We accept no liability for data loss, hardware issues or other damage arising from use of the beta, to the extent permitted by law. This does not affect your statutory rights.
The beta is free and limited to 5,000 images. Features, limits and pricing may change before the final release.
Email and support
If you contact us by email or use a form that opens your email app, we receive the name, email address and message you choose to send. We use that information to respond and to improve the product.
We do not sell, share or pass your email address to a third party for marketing. We keep correspondence only for as long as it is useful to resolve the enquiry or maintain a record of product feedback.
You can ask us to delete support correspondence at any time by emailing hello@livegalleryapp.com.
Third-party services
The website is served by a hosting provider and email is handled by an email provider. Those providers process data on our behalf to deliver the service and keep it secure.
We do not use advertising networks, cross-site trackers or third-party analytics on this site. The download link may take you to a separate download page operated for Live Gallery.
Your rights
You have the right to request access to any personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. To make a request, email hello@livegalleryapp.com and we will respond within 30 days.
If you are in the UK or EU, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. We would appreciate the chance to resolve the issue first.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product and website develop. Significant changes will be noted at the top of this page with a revised date. Continued use of the website or application after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
This version was published on 3 November 2026 and replaces the previous June 2026 policy.
